Tonight I did most of the assembly for the stepper motor controller.
I'm quite impressed with this kit from CNC Hobby. The instructions were clear and concise and well laid out (with a few good helpful hints thrown in).
All I have to do now is add the sla7062m stepper motor controller chips after testing the circuitboard according to the directions, locate an appropriate case and 24V transformer and I'm ready for the next step (pardon the pun).
The stepper motor driver kit I bought from Hobby CNC arrived.
The kit consists of a high-quality circuit board, the integrated components and connectors that I need to assemble. This board will take instruction from the CNC software running on my computer and power the stepper motors that I'm adapting to my Mill/Drill:
On another note, I'm considering setting up a 'member's area' on my server for people to log into and download files and information that I've gathered and created. I'll keep you posted ...
